Setup

Add BidOpps AI to Claude

Nothing to install. You add one address to Claude as a connector, sign in with your email, and ask your first question.

  1. Open Claude's connector settings

In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, go to Customize › Connectors, then choose + Add › Add custom connector.

    Open Claude's connectors

  2. Paste this address

Name the connector BidOpps AI, paste the address below, and save.

    https://bidoppsai.com/mcp

This is the production address. You're viewing this page somewhere other than bidoppsai.com, so it isn't tailored to the server you loaded it from.

  3. Connect and sign in

Select Connect next to BidOpps AI. A sign-in window opens, with no password to create.

  4. Ask your first question

What's due from the VA in the next 30 days that I can bid as an SDVOSB?

Claude searches BidOpps AI and answers with notice numbers you can check on SAM.gov. To see your plan and what's left, ask What's my BidOpps AI usage?

A new account gets 25 free searches, with up to 30 reads of what they find. When they're used up, the reply includes a link to subscribe for $99 a year. How the limits work

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector once under Organization settings › Connectors. Each member then connects it and signs in with their own email.

Things to ask

Ask in plain language. Agency names ("VA", "Army"), program names ("8(a)", "HUBZone") and solicitation numbers all work.

  • Find open 8(a) IT services opportunities from the Army closing in the next 30 days.search_opportunities
  • Read solicitation 36C24726R0026 in full. Who's the contracting officer, and what stage is it at?get_opportunity
  • Who's the incumbent on that notice, how long have they held the work, and how was their last award competed?incumbent_analysis
  • What have comparable awards for that work sold for, and who usually wins them?find_similar_awards
  • Which Army contracts in NAICS 541512 end in the next six months?forecast_watch
  • Here's our capability statement: … We're an SDVOSB. Which open notices fit us best?match_capability_statement

To run a search on a schedule, such as a weekly list of new set-asides in your codes, ask Claude to set it up as a scheduled task where your Claude plan offers them. Each run uses search units like any other call.

If something goes wrong

"Your sign-in session has expired."
The sign-in window is valid for 15 minutes. Start again from Claude: select Connect, or remove and re-add the connector.
"Too many incorrect codes for this address."
After five wrong codes, sign-in for that address pauses for up to an hour. Wait, then request a new code.
Claude says it has no BidOpps AI tools.
Sign-in probably didn't finish. Reconnect, and make sure you reach the Approve screen.
A result starts with invalid_filter.
One of the filter values wasn't recognized; the message lists values that work. These calls aren't charged.
A result starts with data_still_loading.
BidOpps AI's nightly data load hasn't finished in this environment yet. Try again later; these calls aren't charged.

Stuck, or something doesn't match what you're seeing? Email support@bidoppsai.com and the founder will walk through setup with you.

Other MCP clients (untested): Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT

BidOpps AI is a standard remote MCP server with email sign-in, so other MCP clients should work with the same address. We've tested it on claude.ai only.

Claude Code

Add it from a terminal (--scope user makes it available in every project), then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick bidopps and choose Authenticate:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user bidopps https://bidoppsai.com/mcp

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or your project's .cursor/mcp.json), then enable it under Cursor's MCP settings and sign in when prompted.

    "bidopps": { "url": "https://bidoppsai.com/mcp" }

ChatGPT

ChatGPT supports remote MCP connectors on some plans. If yours does, add one with the address above. Let us know if something's off.
